About

Hi!👋🏻 I’m Cece. A mama, a storyteller, a person who believes in capturing moments of all kinds. Because, well, there’s magic in all of it. I’ve done quite a few things in my life but here’s some of the left and right turns summed up into a few paragraphs. I attended the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C. until the age of 14 when I suffered a knee injury. Something changed after that day. I began to think more about theatre and photography as creative outlets and found that they were mediums where I could really bottle up my ideas and thoughts, that there was a place to tell stories and to capture the moments that were happening all around me. I graduated high school at 16 and began traveling the world, studying art history and architecture and received my BA in contemporary theatre and filmmaking from East 15 Acting School in London, England.

I started freelancing as a filmmaker and photographer in 2009 and since, have been a Production Manager at the Avalon Foundation, Head of Marketing at Rise Up Coffee and Creative Director for Pursoma. With over 300 weddings in-between (hi pandemic brides, I see you!) I'm always looking for authenticity in my portraiture, playing with dark and light, love and loss, with babies and grown-ups, sentimentality and joy, hardships and hooray moments — all of these moments matter and they can be captured and live on for much longer than intended. And like I said, there’s magic in all of it.

Fun fact: my husband and I own an ice cream shop called Storm & Daughters in our home town of Eason, Maryland. And then we had a little boy named Homer (maybe we’ll name an ice cream after him at some point to make up for it?) To follow our family visit @cecilestorm. I’ve done quite a few things in my life, but I have a feeling there’s a lot more in store. That’s where you come in.
